Ishira,
one of the most recognized Kathak dancers of the present generation
has the added quality of having paved a way for innovative themes
and new approach and treatment to filter into her style though
working within the traditional classical dance format.
In collaboration with dancers and choreographers abroad, she has made several innovative productions varying from traditional to contemporary. She has been a cultural ambassador to about 30 countries around the world, categorized as outstanding artiste on the panel of Indian Council for Cultural Relations and ‘top grade’ artiste on Doordarshan. Visiting Faculty dance appreciation at the Interior Design CEPT, Ahmedabad, Ishira has been training students from elementary to advance level Kathak dance at Anart Foundation Institute founded by her. An acclaimed dancer, Ishira has given performances at all the major venues and festivals in India. |
