Starting at the age of nine years and trained for thirteen years under eminent Gurus and Guru Shishya Parampara, Namrata is one of the best exponents of Kathak, Lucknow Gharana. She has performed in prestigious festivals in India and abroad including Dikshant Utsav (2003), Maha Shivratri Festival (2003), Pratibha Samman Utsav (2002). She was invited to perform at Gwacheon Hanmadang Festival (2004) in South Korea, at Estonia Orient Festival, and in Finland. There she worked with Korean drummers, vocalists and different musicians. She performed in various cities in Switzerland (2005). Her own fusion concerts have been presented at conferences of Chevrolet, Rado and many international companies promoting art and culture. In her Workshops in India and abroad she has portrayed the spiritual aspects besides the techniques of Indian dance. Graded artiste of Delhi Doordarshan, she has done choreography for award winner M.S. Sathiya directed play “Dara Shikov – A story of Historical Betrayal”. Namrata teaches Indian classical dance at G.D. Goenka World School, Gurgaon.
