Being
the seventh generation of illustrious great family of Kalka-Buidadin
Gharana, Rammohan was initiated in Kathak dance at the age of
six years by his father the legendary Pt. Sambhu Maharaj, and
after his passing away, he was trained by Pt. Birju Maharaj.
Traditional bearer of Lucknow Gharana after Pt. Birju Maharaj,
Rammohan has performed in prestigious programmes and cultural
festivals in almost all major states of India, which include
Khajuraho Festival, Sarat Chandrika Mahotsav, Lucknow Mahotsav,
Kalidas Mahotsav, Gwalior Mahotsav, Bhatkhande Jayanti, Bindadin
Jayanti. His performances abroad include New Zealand, Japan,
Singapore, Mauritius, South Africa, USA, UK, Holland, Germany,
France, and as a performing member of Indian Council for Cultural
Relations, cultural delegations and Festival of India. A choreographer
of many dance-dramas and ballets and a Kathak maestro, Rammohan
was a Senior Guru for several years at Sri Ram Bharatiya Kala
Kendra and Director, Sangeet Natak Academy, Lucknow before being
Chairman and Guru at Kathak Kendra, Delhi.
