Academic/Professional activities  :
Professionally trained under eminent Gurus (1945- 1958), Rani was taken as a cultural scholar by Government of India (1960-1964) and as a performer member of Government of India cultural delegations to foreign countries. Her performances throughout India include at Rashtrapati Bhavan before high dignitaries and eminent persornages (1950-1964), Science Congress, Delhi University , Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Calcutta, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Calcutta, Haridas Sangeet Sammelan, Vrindavan, Khajuraho Festival of Dance, Kathak Mahaotsav, Thyagraja Festival, Tirupati, Virasat Festival, Mangalore, Sangeet Natak Academy, Calcutta Swarna Samaroh, Kalidas Samaroh, Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, Kalka Binadadin Kathak Mahotsav, Delhi, Konarak Festival, Vasant Utsav, Delhi/ Calcutta, and for charity, performances for Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa, Delhi/ Calcutta and orphans in Don Bosco School, Calcutta. Her performances abroad include in; Nepal, Burma, Laos, Hong Kong, Japan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, USSR, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland AND Switzerland.
She has conceived and choreographed: ‘Ananda Dhara,’ ‘Ritu Parva’, ‘Virch Milan Raas’, ‘Hori Khela’, ‘Pujarini-Shiva Shakti’, ‘Satrang’ ‘Navarang’: ‘Meghadoot’, ‘Khoi Nadi’, ‘Kathak Anek Rang’ and ‘Tasher Desh’. Cassettes of several of them have been released. She has participated in number of seminars and workshops organized in the country and abroad, notable being Kathak Seminars, Jaipur/Bhopal/Delhi, ‘Youth Culture and Creativity’ organized by SPIC MACAY and Deptt. of Culture, Govt. of India, ‘Tagore and Dance’ seminar, Calcutta and Workshops at Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta and Sangeet Bharti, New Delhi. Her lecture – demonstrations abroad include at: Palace Des Beaux Arts, Brussels; Ghent University; Ghent , Indo- Luxemburg Society, Luxemburg; Cite University, Geneva; Maiso de L’ Inde-Paris. Her performances besides for national TV include for Moscow, Sofia and Bulgaria TV network.
