One of the eminent dancers of Kathak, Rashmi has been performing Lucknow style of Kathak for over four decades. She has performed in major dance festivals all over India, which include prestigious festivals at Khajuraho, Bhopal, Bombay, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Chandigarh and Lucknow. She has choreographed solo and group items on poems of Kalidas, Nirala, Padmakar, Makhanlal Chaturvedi and of saint poets Jaidev, Surdas, Vidyapati and others. Has given Dance Direction in Kumar Shahnnu’s film “Khayal Gatha”, Rashmi has also conducted Workshops and participated and organized conferences, festivals and events related to dance, theatre, literature and arts which include Praspar, Rang Samvad, Weekend Theatre, Poorva-Asian Women Director Theatre Festival. Rashmi has been Dean, Dance Department, Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, M.P., and Examiner for PhD’s and guided PhD students for Kathak. Associated with several Akademies, Dance Committees and Kathak Kendra, Delhi, She is the founder of dance group ‘Anghaar’ and Director, Natarang Pratishthan, a theatre research centre and archive, Delhi
