Starting
his training first under his father at the age of 15 years Sappa
received special training in ‘Andhra Natyam’ and ‘Perini
Sivathandavam’ from famous Guru Nataraja Rama Krishna.
Every year Sappa conducts dance festivals in famous Siva temples and
every year on Karthik Masam he organizes Nritya Aradhana at Siva temples.
He has researched and restored Yagna Narthanas like Pancha Bhuta Avahana,
Ashtadik Palaka Awahana and others. He has the distinction of conducting
first Narthana Yagnam with 108 dancers first time in Indian Cultural
History.
In 2003 he conducted Narthana Yagna Aradhana with 118 dancers first time
in the world cultural history.
His choreography works include: Bhakta Annamacharya, Omkara Ganapathi,
Bhasmasura Charitam(Dance Ballets); Sutradharulu, Ammayi Nischitardham(Telugu
movies); Santhi Theeralu, Pushkara Gowthami Dance Ballets for Doordarshan.
Sappa started Nataraj Nritya Niketan, Rajahmundry (1983) in the name
of his Guru, for the development of traditional art forms. His disciples
are teaching temple dances in several states in India and in Malaysia
and Canada.
