Trained
by eminent Gurus in Odissi dance for over six years and by famous
teachers in Bharatanatyam, Surupa has given several hundred performances
in India which include: Alttakalari Festival, Bangalore, Ellora
Festival, Aurangabad, Ganga Mahotsav, Varanasi, India International
Centre, New Delhi, Kalaghoda festival, Mumbai, Khajuraho Dance
Festival, Konarak Dance festival, Orissa, Lucknow, Mahotsav,
Malwa Festival, Mandu, Marga Festival, Chennai, Nehru Festival
Mumbai, Sharad Vaibav, Bangalore, Surya Dance and Music Festival,
Trivandrum, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai and Thalam Festival,
Trissur.
Her notable performances abroad include in Japan, Belgium, Denmark, Holland,
UK, USA (American Dance Festival, Broadway Centre for Arts; Ireland Museum
of Art, Institute of International Education, Denver; Joyee Theatre,
New York; Tennassee Arts Society; Washington Performing Arts Society,
University of California/Arizona, Canada, Dubai. She has also given lecture-demonstrations
at museums, universities, schools across India and North America, and
to visiting students and domestic and foreign tourists. She was selected
to attend American Dance Festival as part of the International Choreographers
Residency.
