Obtaining
first position as a vocalist and a veena artiste from the renowned
Swathi Thirunal Academy, Trivandrum (1956), and a further advanced
training on the veena from famous veena maestros, Smt. Visalam
has distinguished herself as a famous and popular vocalist and
veena artiste.
She has given many concerts in India and abroad in a veena recital at
the prestigious Music Academy An ‘A’ grade artiste (Vocal/Veena)
on AIR and Doordarshan, she has performed on the national programmes
of AIR and Doordarshan.
She as a member of India Cultural Delegations has given performances
in Switzerland, Germany, UK, USA, Brazil and Canada. As a founder-Principal,
Swathi Thirunal Nadalaya, Smt. Visalam has been imparting Carnatic Music
education to students for the last twenty five years.
