With
her early training at the age of six in Bharatanatyam and later
specializing in Kuchipudi and temple ritual dances under legendary
gurus, Vyjayanthi is one of India’s most respected classical
dancers. She has performed in India and abroad in Singapore,
Korea, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, UK, Spain and Africa.
She has choreographed mythological, historical, Sanskrit and contemporary
ballets. One of top ranking Kuchipudi dancers, Vyjayanthi is a researcher,
event organizer and a pioneer in the field of Indian dance therapy for
physically and mentally disabled children in India and abroad. With an
experience of twenty years in dance a revered Guru, Vyjayanthi established
Shambhavi School of Dance (1993) where she has trained, cultivated and
groomed some of the finest dancers under the ancient Gurukul system.
She is one of the outstanding artiste of Indian Council for Cultural
Relations, Doordarshan Kendra, Member of Kuchipudi Text Committee, and
one of the top ranking exponents of Kuchipudi dance.
