As choreographer and Asstt. Director,
Nrityabharti where 4000 students are trained every year, 35 students
have been awarded National Scholarship under his surveillance. Chandan Thakore has pioneered choreographing the otherwise solo/duets dance recital, in group form. He has also experimented blending Uttar Hindustani music with South Indian dance for his choreographies, which is a novel experiment in Bharatanatyam. The language used being Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit has helped to make Bharatanatyam popular among the masses. Under his guidance the performing group has performed at major cities of India in : Konark Festival, Orissa Uttarardh Festival, Modhera Sun Temple Swarnotsav, Delhi Sangeet Natak Academy Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy Somnath Festival, Somnath Temple Kalagurjari, Mumbai Nrutya Aradhana, Bharatmata Mandir, Haridwar Sahitya Parisad 15th August Celebration, Patan Gujarat Sanskrit Sahitya Parishad |

national programme, introduced by him, invites young artistes
to Ahmedabad to be given a platform to perform. Chandan Thakore has been conducting a Bharatanatyam Summer Camp at ‘Baalotsav’ jointly organized by Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy and Govt. of Gujarat’s Yuvak Sena and Sanskrutik Samiti. |
