A performer, teacher and choreographer, Lata’s ballets which include ‘Mahavira’, Kalidasa’s ‘Ritu-Samhara’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ (for Doordarshan, Mumbai), ‘Ramayana’, Surdas’s ‘Sursagar’, Jayadeva’s ‘Geeta Govinda’ ‘Meera’ ‘Shri Krishnamrutam’, ‘Jagruti’ have won her wide acclaim in India and abroad.
She is the only dancer to have performed at Tryambakeshwar (Nasik) during Mahashivratri Festival (2002).
She has been sponsored to perform by Ministry of Human Resources and Development (Deptt. Of Culture), Nehru Centre, Worli (Mumbai) and private institutions and cultural centres of repute.
She has specially choreographed varnams to suit little children.
Her institution ‘Anjali Bharatanatyam Research Trust’, Mumbai has completed its Silver Jubilee and has brought to the forefront several talented youngsters in Bharatanatyam.
She has also taught the Indian cinema celebrity Aishwarya Rai.
